Well you can't pull more than 10a without blowing the fuse so I'd go for 16 gauge or 1.5mm in domestic wiring terms. Although there wouldn't be any harm in using 2.5 if you have spare mains flex knocking about indoors
The wiring is 18 gauge on the cable. All I want to do is extend the cable I’ve brought.
Why is it all so complex? I know how to install the device. I just want a cable long enough that is the correct one to use.

well 18s slightly thinner so my guess was a little more on the safe side I suppose, but match whatever they chose I guess
you need a bit of red and a bit of black, im not sure how else to explain it beyond that lol, it's not overly complicated
personally I wouid still over-rate it just in case, https://www.12voltpl...x-21a-15mm.html
chose however many metres you need
other cheaper options may be available ?
have you got crimps and so on

PVC thin walled cable is rated as follows.
0.05mm sq 16/0.20 rated 11 amps
1.0mm sq 32/0.20 rated 16.5 amps
2.0mm sq 28/0.30 rated 25.0 amps.
As your charger is rated as 36 w/ outlet, that is a 3 amp load/ outlet.

I tend to prefer overestimating rather than working out what the bare minimum should be, for the sake of what is very cheap cable and literally no extra weight or difficulty in routing the cable, what is there to lose by going over the top

I brought this kit as I know how to install it and have crimps ect yeah.
But I’ve been to Halfords, europarts, Screwfix and tool station and now one can tell me how to match up this cable?
I’m still none the wiser. I just want a longer piece.

I don’t mind if it’s overestimated. If you have a link to the cable i need to order? Thanks

amazon might work out cheaper depending on delivery cost
https://www.amazon.c...,61&sr=8-4&th=1
that's 2m which surely is long enough for wherever you want it

If you want a definitive way to match your cable, strip the cable, count the number of cores, measure the diameter of an individual core then you will have your cable size i.e 32 core wires at 0.2mm gives you 32/0.2 16.5 amp rating.

I’m just after a safe way for it to be wired and a cable I can use to do that :).

Id be more than happy to use it myself
as mentioned the 16guage would be oversized which is perfectly fine, the only thing is if you can't get it in the crimp end just snip off a few strands until it goes in, not a problem (or just use a bigger crimp)
that link also has an option for 18guage, same price, you might prefer that being slightly slimmer
