I have run the breathers open on the car for a number of years but I am considering re connecting back to the carbs.

May seem like a silly question but I can't remember how it was originally set up with the pipes running to the carbs.

I have twin SU's and the pipe for the breather on the carb is currently blanked off with a valve cap.  Could I simply run the timing chain into one SU and then the crankcase into another?

Or is there another way I should do it?

The cannister ont he crankcase is pretty mucky inside so will be getting cleaned out before refitting.

Many thanks

The air filter cans used to have a short tube on them, for that job, about 3/8" diameter.

If there isn't one, solder in a bit of 10mm copper tube, and use a plastic push fit  T  to gather up your breather tube connections.

The oily fumes from open vents get sucked through the radiator, where it adheres to the fins, then trap dust and reduce the cooling ability.

That's the way I had mine, though I recently added a balance pipe between them.  Not sure if it made any difference though.

We also have seen an increase in oil leaking after a hard drive.  Hoping that a clear out of the crank case cannister and piping back into the carbs will help.

I have ordered some breather pipe from Mini Spares which has a larger end for the cannister and a small end to go direct to the carb.

Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for that, as I was going to try and have a pipe joining the cabs with a t piece in the middle to then go to the breathers.  Might just try it with a breather on each carb to start with.

How about a PCV if there's a connection on the manifold

Not mine but shows the valve

The only port on the inlet is going to the servo.  Thanks for the idea but I think I will simply plumb into the carb.
