Hi guys, after years of not being able to drive my MPI, (my left leg on the clutch side) in a bad state, I wanted to get my MPI out and I said to myself I'm going to shift gears with the walking stick to press on the clutch...but hush!!! if the police come by ;)

I had installed a battery switch, so I put the battery back in, and surprise, the alarm started ringing!!.. fortunately, I unplugged the horn!
but my alarm doesn't work any more, i can't remove the ignition switch, nor can i turn the alarm on or off...
I can't remember who I sent my LUCAS alarm, my ECU and my boxes to in the UK to have them programmed, if you have the name I'll take them.

But the funny thing is that I have a 2nd set of LUCAS alarms, ECU and remote controls for an MPI in spare parts since 2014 and same thing if I cross the elements the mini does not start, the alarm does not remove.

I see that some people say that you have to reprogram the remote controls but when you talk about the right button on the remote control is it the one with the padlock or not?
thank you for your help

The alarm unit needs to be "paired" to the ECU, otherwise it will not function and the car will be immobilised.

It may, if you're sure you have got the correct remote with the correct 5AS and ECU, turning on the ignition and repeatedly pushing the button on the remote.

If that doesn't work, contact Paul Brown

He fixed a busted remote and programmed a spare one for me AND switched off the frustrating passive immobilisation which, on my MPi, would allow the engine to start, run for long enough to pull out into traffic and then immobilise the car, forcing me to go through the off, wait 20 seconds and back on again, while a truck was bearing down on me.
