Hi Folks!

Does anyone know the final drive ratio of the Rover City 988 from 1992 as standard?

I’ve researched this site and online and can’t find a definitive answer, hoping it is a 3.1 as this seems to be a popular choice for the 998?

I currently have the engine out to fit a 12g295 head with oversized valves and an SW5 camshaft so if it’s a good time to make a diff change if needed…

Thanks in advance for any info you may have!

It should be 3.1. My 1991 is, though I cannot remember how I found this out.

If you go to Guess Works website and  go to  engine nos in the left hand tab, fill in the details it tells you the final drive your engine would have originally come with.

Obviously it could have been changed at some point but it gives you an idea
