I'd like to buy a new radiator for my Mini but every one I see has the water inlet on the opposite side as mine.

Any idea what radiator this is? Are they available?

To swap over to a standard Mini radiator I'll need to replace the water neck and top bracket. There seems to be many variations of brackets. Which one would I need?

Looks like it might be a late model Australian rad.

Can you replace the thermostat housing & top bracket and go with the more common type?

Cheers, Paul

That Radiator was fitted to cars that also had an Air Pump as part of the emissions system. Such engines popped up in Sweden, Switzerland, Canada and as Paul mentioned, Australia.

There are no replacements available that I am aware of, though, any decent radiator shop can re-core what you have (and I think you'd be best off going this way !).

If you do want to replace it, you can as Paul was thinking, go for the standard UK type, along with the thermostat housing and top radiator steady.

Ah ha. This was likely a Canadian car so that would explain why it's different.

Unfortunately, environmental regulations have made radiator shops a thing of the past around here. There is one or two remaining but they deal with big commercial radiators and are too expensive for small jobs.

Converting over to a UK style radiator makes the most sense. I will get a new thermostat housing but am unsure what top bracket would fit. Any suggestions?

It looks like the same bracket would fit?

This is the top bracket you'll need;-

Ah, sadly, it won't. The bosses on the standard thermostat housing are too low so the bracket needs to be able to reach around it ;D

I hve always found fabricating my own top bracket to be the best solution, that way I get the rad in the best position witout stress on ny components.
