Hi fellow Mini drivers.
I have a Pickup here I need to get in the road. The VIN plate is present and matches the V5.
I might be stupid but I just can't find where it's been stamped into the body. My other minis gave it in the gutter on the scuttle panel above the clutch master.
The car has had a respray so it might have been overpainted but I also can't feel it from below.
Is it the right place to look for it on a 77 Pickup or do they have it elsewhere?
Please help.

It will not have a stamped number in the body. Just the chassis plate.

the stamped number on the body did not happen in the life of the pickup.  It was made to late 80s when it was started.  This is not to say that importers did not add additional Import numbers. Often found on the JDM Minis and the imported UK built Minis in Aus.
