Just bought a off road buggy for the daughter. Its got a austin mini engine and running gear. One of the drive shaft rubber uj's is loose. Whats best option please

Just loose or split? Inner or outer?

 

Probably cable ties, easily obtainable.

Think your on about gators. These are the uj's. The universal joint on the drive shafts. Thanks for your input

Ah, I see,

 

You mean the GCD101 inner joints, must be an oldie. New joints: there was an upgrade with bearings inside, there'll be details on the forum I expect.

The hardy spicer joints while good on the road would not be the best option for off road, dirt, dust, water etc. If the rubber crosses are worn just buy a kit from minispares et al. If the inner sliding part is worn the new shafts would be in order.
