What is the safest way to swap out a dead analog time clock on a walnut 3 clock dashboard? Can someone show photos or steps? I tried accessing by the radio hole and they didn't work, my car is LHD MPi and I know the dashboard is close to impossible to source if it gets damaged. I managed to find a new clock that is exactly the same as the one that came from the factory, just want to get it fitted into the same hole and remove the dead one.

Pull the whole dash apart. Then you can also test that it isn't a wiring issue.

Ignore the book title, this is the correct Haynes manual and section 11 shows removal of the wooden fascia.

And this is the genuine Rover Repair Manual, scroll through to page 355.

You may be able to get access to the rear of the clock by removing the radio.
Cheers, Paul.

If you remove the radio, you will be able to undo the wing nut that secures the instrument panel in place. With the instrument panel out of the way, you will have better access to the back of the clock.
