Traditional Air Filter Pipe Extension

Best Answer Chris1275gt , 28 August 2023 - 03:04 PM

The extension pipe goes to a warm air duct that fits over the exhaust on the head to assist winter warming up (I think) on some models. The bimetallic in the elbow lowers as it get hot and allows air in through the top.

Hi All

In traditional 'frying pan' style air filters, what are the details of the corrugated pipe extension bit?

How long should it be, diameter, material, direction of pointing? All help greatly received.

Thanks Shaun

Thanks Chris

I'd forgotten about the tin-wear on the head, but now you've sent the picture on the link I remember having one on an early mayfair I think.

Thanks. Shaun
