    Starting My Mini Up

Hello everyone,

Since I'm new to this forum it seems only polite to introduce myself.

When I last had a Mini for a brief time in the 80's (an 850 with damp carpets and rusty sills, as I recall) there were, of course, no online forums.

Since then I've moved from Manchester to Toulouse and had the pleasure of owning many cars and motorcycles, but for sometime the joy of Mini driving a has been calling.  Last month I brought what so far seems to be a pretty rust free 1000 (possible an HLE at the beginning) that shows 91,000 KM on the clock (but since it's a large central speedo, and not the original, who knows!).  I plan to bring her back to full health, she runs OK and drives in a more-or-less straight line but I feel she is lacking the TLC that the person who restored her last showed... so I suspect that this forum will be a great help and I plan to add (if I ever find a gap, or a way of helping  someone) as well as I take.

I'm lucky in that my current "garage" is now comprised of the Mini, a Renault F4 van from 1984, that I've almost finished doing what I wanted to do, a 2019 Seat Lean estate (the daily driver) and a Zero FXS electric motorcycle.
Hope that wasn't too long and/or boring.

Kind regards to all,

Simon.

Welcome, there are always plenty of minis at the Circuit Historique de Laon if you ever fancy heading to Picardie in May?
