Hello

Was walking through local highstreet the other day, and saw a shop with bigish picture frames in the window.

So i thought it would be nice to, once my projects finished, to find somewhere with a nice background e.g. countryside somewhere/open space with sunset behind ect ect then take a picture of my car, then have it blown up and framed....

hopefully im not the only one that thinks this would be cool/nice

so, has anyone done this? and what camera did you use. My digital cam, is 5 million pixels, would that be enough to still get a good quality pic once its blown up ? to say, 24x18" (total guess, dunno what frame sizes go in)

and what places would do it? or do these new machines where you put your little sd card in, and it prints the pics straight off, and can you select what size you want?

Thanks for any help you can offer !

Dave ;) :w00t:

www.largephotoprints.co.uk suggest that for pictures upto A2 (594mm x 420mm) that you should atleast use a 3 million mega pixel camera so ensure it doesnt pixilate.
so you should be fine with your camera!
hope this helps

P.S they also provide good service as dealt with them before

Put it on the highest setting and you should be just about ok for a large print.

Let me have your email address and I'll recommend you to the place I use. They're very quick, cheap and the quality is great :w00t:

It will even tell you if the quality isn't good enough if you're trying to do a print too big. I've just had some 15 x 10" prints framed. The framing cost me £5 each on top of the prints, which are less than £5 for that size. Once you get a decent frame and a border, that size is plenty big enough.
