Hello

Today a dissassembled the diff, the bushes have to be replace/machining

On the picture you see the old bush

Shouldn't the hole in the bush aligned one of the oil grooves in the housing ?

I think they have to be reamed to size when replaced. However, i cannot remember what size they need to be reamed to?

The Pot joints should be 1.250", I give the 0.001" running clearance, so 1.251" is what I set them at.

Often I'm finding the new Pot Joints though, are up to 0.0015" over size and / or out of round. If they are just over size, the bush can be machined to suit, however, I prefer to correct the Pot Joint, so if a replacement is later fitted, that is on-size, the bush isn't over-sized.

While getting a little off topic, KAD had a needle roller version of these covers.

Yes I know it, and it will be reamed

I did it on mine Mini also 3 years ago and surprisingly it does not leak  :proud:

This one goes into a Special after re-build.
