How ahead of time Monty Python was. Who would have thought a group of comedians in 1979 starring in a movie based on 'events' thousands of years ago could have predicted the future.

 

Their film ‘Life of Brian’ predicting the future back in 1979.

The Loretta scene...

 

And again in ‘The Meaning of Life’ in 1983...

Mother: "Is it a boy or a girl?"

Doctor: "I think it's a bit early to start imposing roles upon it"..

I think what it really says is not so much that the Pythons could predict the future more that society was asking the same questions/dealing with the same problems 40 years ago (and way before)….and still has got to an answer yet!

All the glitz and glamour, trinkets and technology, of modern life and, under it all, people are still just people.

I dunno about predicting the future, as already said these issues have been around for donkeys years

 

but they were definitely WELL ahead of the pack in terms of being willing to actually talk about it, they got right up some people's noses and fair play to 'em I say

 

Meaning of life is one of my all time favourite films, try to watch it every couple of years or so

 

But the flying circus had most of the best bits for me
