Have a little issue I am trying to figure out would appreciate some insight from you all..
Have a new indicator stalk installed and Iโ€™m baffled by the high beam positions.

So as it sits now the position closest the windscreen is low beam and middle position is high beam but when I pull stalk in to flash high beam it stays the same as itโ€™s already in high beam ๐Ÿ˜‚ I checked the wiring colours in the stalk mechanism and they are correct blue/white high beam/ blue red for low beam.. flasher is jumped with a black wire to high beam.

My understanding is the middle position should be low beam and the position closest to windscreen should be high beam or am I wrong?

Blue light on dash comes on when stalk is closest to the windscreen and when flashing. This is a new wiring harness without the dim dip relay etc which it did have before but opted out on having it due to sheer amount of issues..

If anyone can shed some light on this Iโ€™d be most grateful ๐Ÿ‘

You are correct the middle position is the low beam and the forward position is main beam

If the main beam blue warning light lights up when the stalk is forward or pulled right back to flash it sounds like the stalk  and wiring to the dash is correct.  Could be a mix up in the wiring further down the loom (assuming the headllights are connected correctly)

As the high beam telltail works as expected relavent to the stalk switch possition it would appear the new loom has transposed the high and low beam feeds.

The easist fix I think would be to swap over the Blue/Red feed and the Blue/White feed at the headlight end where the two feeds come down before the wire splits to either headlight.

Cheers for the help and thanks for confirming stalk positions I will try swapping connections at the headlight connectors and post an update later ๐Ÿ‘

You checked the stalk colours but do they follow across to the correct colours in the new harness connector? Could be transposed in the mating half of the new loom.

Think the pin out on the headlights are wrong but the colours all match through the switches/loom.. I do have my suspicions the loom is still at fault because when I first installed the loom car had no crank as the red/white wire was split somewhere in the loom, I ended up running a new wire from starter relay to the immobiliser/alarm interrupt. Also the connections where the rear harness meets front was positioned in engine bay which exposes them to the elements instead of running behind the dash meeting inside the car (possibly correct) I suppose the only way to see is unwrap the loom.. not fun
