    One Carb Or Two?

I have a 1989 998cc mini. Basically I want a bit more torque/power. I've fitted a stage one kit from mini spares already.
I have a 12G940B head in the garage, which is a mini 1275cc SPI head, so unleaded.
I was thinking of using this head and swapping the standard Cam for a mini spares evo cam. I can sink the valves in the head to safe pocketing the block, if that's a better option.
Has anyone got any advice on which way forward would be the best?
Thank you.

A lightened flywheel makes a nice improvement to acceleration.

A 1275 head is not a direct replacement on a 998 engine.
A 1275 complete engine however, is, and will give you the performance you desire.

when i fitted a standard 1275 head to my 998 pocketed the block for valve clearance not the head and used a 1275 head gasket worked fine but you lose some low end grunt. would stick to cam swap and lightened flywheel.don't know what diff you're running but a swap to 3.44, including speedo drives, will improve things
