I've got a 1980 1275GT shell which quite frankly is only a GT on the V5, it's had the front removed for a flip front and I've got no original parts.

It had a brand new full heratige floor put in about 10 years ago but that's about where I stopped.

It's got both subframes in perfect condition and a set of 10 inch Wellers. Comes with a few bits like pedal box, brand new master cylinder etc but nothing worth talking about.

I can't bring myself to scrap it but it feels like the only option at this point.

Been watching a couple of 1275 GT's on Ebay recently (albeit earlier 10" wheel ones) and one of them sold for around £24k!! 1275 GT's seem to be commanding a good price at the moment, so definitely worth putting up for sale. With a new heritage floor assembly fitted, most of the hard work you've already done!

Cheers, Steve.

Good to know but honestly I'd happily give it away to someone that would do something good with it.

You would be mad to scrap it, the 1275GT is highly desirable and in demand as a restoration project now that Cooper S projects are few and far between and mostly out of reach of most enthusiasts budgets.

eg. A 1275GT bodyshell from BMH is £11,400 without any subframes......

The engine and gearbox for a 1275GT are much cheaper and more common than a Cooper S which also makes them a much easier project, so give it away or sell it on .....but please don't scrap it.

Bodyshell, Body Complete Assembly CZH594 £11400.00

That's actually an interesting idea. A reshell could be worthwhile.

there are lots of people on here that can do that shell for you for a lot less, the likes of Ben_o or MiniJosh92  .. I dont think you know what you have there ! that is one desirable car.

A friend of mine might be interested, to reshell his RSP. I'll talk to him if this is still available?

Sorry to those interested, I'm going to look at the heritage reshell route. Seems like a cost effective way to get me back on track.

You still have an item that people that race Minis that don’t need to be road legal would be interested in.

Stick it on eBay and see what you get, I'd gladly take it off your hands as a freebie, but you will be surprised what you get for it

at bare minimum it's a fairly new complete floor that's worth a few quid in itself

someone with a grotty floor would probably find it easier to swap the shells over and put a new front on it

are there any rust problems with the panels that are still attached?

The scuttle is trash as you can see from the photos but the rear bins are new, rear valance, obviously the full floor and toe board. There's not really any material rust elsewhere just surface where I've taken it back to bare metal.

sounds like a really good starting point for someone who doens't really want a lot of difficult jobs, it's mainly just taking time to line up a new front end nicely and then paint by the sounds of it
