A 998 carb car would not have had a 3AS system, it must be an aftermarket immobiliser.

there's some detail including pinouts and wiring diagrams on this page
https://www.metropow...-locking-tweaks
do the pictures of the units match up with what you have and connectors look the same? using that info it should be relatively straight forward (if not time consuming) to plot out what needs cutting and bridging out back to original spec
has you car got an ecu or anything or are we just talking straight forward coil pack and dizzy

sorry I didn't mean it to sound dismissive or condecending or anything, just saying, in comparison to other more recent types and more complicated cars as well, just having the most basic coil and dizzy set up is at least the easiest (relatively speaking)
I guess I would start at the back of the ignition switch, sketch out where each of those wires should go based on the original wiring diagram, and correct accordingly

Hi it’s a 1275 a plus engined car and it’s not after market
Sorry was assuming it was a 998.
I have done a few SPI 3AS ones and basically the immobiliser switches an earth to the starter relay, not sure if it works the same way on a carb one though, I didn't even realise they ever fitted 3AS systems on carb cars.
