Hi all.

I am restoring a 1991 1275cc Carb Cooper and am struggling to find the correct insulated fresh air duct pipe that fits under the L/H wheel arch between the intake behind the grille (CZH1318 - No.21 in the attached image) and the L/H internal cabin vent.

I have found several that are 50-60mm dia, but I need 65-70mm dia.

Anyone had any experience with using a different product or know where I could buy the right part?

Thanks in advance.

Have you attended a mini show with an auto jumble ? It was where I bought mine when I was rebuilding a car

I didn't know such things existed until your post - I have just searched and found Mini Fair 2024 in Stafford - looks great and have put in the diary :-).

Yes, been to several with no joy. Was hoping to find one via ebay as all the online stores (Minispares, MiniSport, Somerfords etc) don't have anything in stock.

Will try my luck at Stafford in January.

the ducting itself is easy to find online in all sorts of sizes (I look on ebay for most things)  I guess the difference is the foam filler stuff but again surely that cant be too hard to replicate

that's probably the way I'll go about it but then I'm not as interested in originality as some people as long as it's built well and works the same way

I had considered buying some twin wall duct and just trying to push some pipe lagging insulation into it.

I have a 1991 Carb Cooper, but it didn't have an insulated air duct! I bought some replacement from Carbuilder.com. I can't remember off the top of my head which ducting it was, but it fitted a treat! I'll look up what I ordered when I get back home on Monday.

Hi Cooper Mac, did you get a chance to look at which duct you bought from CarBuilder?

Thanks.

Sorry, I forgot about this!

This is what I used and it was a nice fit onto each end:

Rimmer Bros sell some ducting claiming to be the correct part number, but which is the same diameter as the inside foam bit, and fits snugly inside the plastic fittings at each end.
