If I remove the intake manifold and carbs can you still remove the lcb without removing the head? I am trying to avoid taking the head off. Thanks

Sure. It is a little fiddly but normal. Some people use bolts rather than studs as that makes it faster.
top engine steady might need undoing to allow movement,

only problem may be splitting the 2 into 1 section underneath especially if someone has used exhaust u bolts rather then the flat clamps that come with the lcb kit

i use 5/16" x 1'25" long hex head screws to attach the manifolds. That way I can remove the manifolds quickly and, if necessary, take the head off without undoing the LCB at the bottom Y-piece joint. Makes life so much easier. Ford have always bolted their manifolds on to the heads.

Depending on what you want to do, if I am doing head work, I undo the manifold, and drop the LCB and exhaust off as one lump, without splitting any of the exhaust. I t merely drop down once you have undone the exhause hangers etc... doesnt help if you asnt to split the collector though or you want to fully remove the LCB
