Hi - I saw at the Mini Fair yesterday someone had installed Alfa GTV seats front and rear in their classic - looked great. Has anyone had any experience of doing this or know what’s required to engineer the frames to allow them to fit? I’ve no welding equipment, so hoping it’s something an amateur can do…..

Appreciate any advice.

It's possible to fit GTV fronts quite easily by adapting some generic aftermarket Mini seat subframes, see these posts made on my old account https://www.theminif...neon/?p=3686444 and https://www.theminif...neon/?p=3686665

That was done with some basic tools and bits of scrap metal in my flat during lockdown, no welding needed! That said, if I were to do this again I'd look at mounting the seats a little lower toward the floor as they sat a tad high for me.

The rears basically just sit in place with no mods, but it's quite easy to fashion a simple mounting solution that'll fix the back permanently into place.

Is it the alpha GTV 916 rear seat that fits (fairly) straightforwardly in mk4 mini? And is there room for the rear headrests that come with these seats? Ta

Yep those are the seats I fitted with relative ease. Mine didn't have the headrests for the rear so I don't know for sure, but I can't imagine it would be a big challenge to fit them.

Much appreciated - like your idea with the aftermarket frames bolted to steel bar. I'll keep lookout for some of those going for a decent price. Cheers mate!

The best solution is to find the seats you want then build a frame that suits both the car and the seats putting them in the position you want.

I have placed these Alfa Romeo GTV 916 front and back seats in my Clubman Estate.

I had two steel profiles cut and bended to place the front seats on.

Any pics Yoda? Very interested. Not the mountings so much, the seats front and rear...
