Piston Rings

Hi all, Any idea where I can find piston rings for the following piston.+0.03 Trw 175 9335
it has 3 compression rings and 1 oil ring and the top is dished.

could find no info for these, maybe easier to measure cc and get some pistons where rings are easily accesible

The most important thing that you need to know, is how thick the rings are.

 

In my youth, the gap on a new ring, varied for each ring.   Rings were almost always too large and each ring had to be fitted into the bore and gapped.

 

Rings also came in "overthicknesses", so that pistons with worn grooves could be turned in a lathe to take a thicker ring.

 

Provided the ring is a good fit in the grooves of the piston, a ring up to .080" over size  will work when gapped.

 

Performance engine builders used to search out rings that needed the minimum of 'squeezing' to fit in the bore, to minimise friction.

I don't have a TRW Piston Listing to get the ring sizes, but almost certainly, Hastings and Grant will have rings to suit.
