What year is your car? Have you bought the correct stalk for your year/model?
Earlier cars (Pre-76) had spade connectors for the indictor stalk (and maybe the ignition barrel I don't recall) and later cars had round pins (not bullet connectors as such)
The wiring for the stalk and ignition may have been taped together but they aren't connected electrically
Can you upload some pics to show the loom and the stalk/ignition wires

I don't think the white ones are the original connectors. They look like Molex connectors, which are generic on computers & other electronics. Couldn't say for sure but they might not have a high enough power rating for stuff like head lights.
The likes of autosparks should have the correct items

As stated by Ethel the stalk plugs are correct, its the main loom that has the incorrect plugs.
Refitting the loom with the correct plugs is possible but you would need various pins and the actual plug bodies to do it so a bit of a faff (you could splice on a bit of a second hand/spare loom maybe)
Might be easier to remove the plugs from the stalks and make separate spade/bullet connectors for each wire (still a bit of a faff and also a faff if/when you need to disconnect them but that shouldn't be too often?)
Or get a new loom; expensive but if the "modifications" seen here are typical throughout the rest of the loom it might not be a bad shout as you might discover other issues

Those are not plugs that I would want to use for this, even in computers it is common for them to burn.
