What Are These Fasteners For

Best Answer imack , 06 March 2024 - 07:21 PM

They are the captive nuts for the throttle pedal on a left hand drive car. The right hand drive nuts will be there in the appropriate position for the pedal. Go to the full post

Couple of fasteners that I don't know what to do with. Anyone know what they're for, please? Car is a RHD '64 Mk1 Countryman, which doesn't appear to have been much molested or modded. (Apart from the previous owner fitting so may new panels that it's literally easier to count the original ones than the replacements.)

1/4" bolts and captive nuts on the bulkhead, just above the passenger side of the rack. This is original metal. The captive nuts are on the engine side of the panel, but so are the rusted-in-place bolts which seems wrong - you'd expect them to be on opposite sides:

There's no sign of a matching pair on the drivers side.
