So I’m just sorting out the electrics on a mini I’m restoring before it get painted. Been to Minispares at York today and got a new park switch and the loom repair and plug, the wipers work on both speeds but don’t stop at the park position, I unclipped the new park switch , and switched on the wipers then pressed in the button on the park switch, but the wipers don’t stop? Do you think the new switch could be faulty.
How would you go about testing it? Or any other ideas? Thanks in advance

I’d check the wires are all connected to the right wires at the new repair plug.

As you can see from this diagram it should only be possible to turn the motor off with the park switch. You do have to put the stalk (dash switch) in the off position. So, if you can't turn it off by holding the park switch in it could be the stalk.

Note the park switch also shorts the motor to earth to stop it dead, so check the Brown/light green at the park switch isn't still live with the green disconnected by, or from, the park switch.
