Just fitted one of MED's ST1 fully balanced and set up ultralight clutch/flywheel units to my wife's 1330.

We now have clutch judder. Have emailed MED but so far no answer.

Is this likely to be sorted by 'burning' in the centre plate or something else causing it?

I fitted a new orange seal even though there was no previous leakage.

Anyone else had this with MED ST1 unit?

Pre verto with inertia starter.

I wonder if everybody can help me. I currently purchased an 04 plate mini cooper. Had it about a month whilst the take hold of started making bizarre noises, it might be noisy creating a chattering sound whilst the take hold of become out, however disappeared as soon because the seize changed into pressed in. I bought the car from a dealer and got 6 months assurance with it, so took it to the warranty garage and became instructed that it became only a noise trouble in the intervening time and nothing to fear about, and need to it get any worse to take it lower back and they might consider a gearbox overhaul. Since then, i'm now having troubles getting the automobile to interact in first equipment, and the day before today the car engine started out creating a simply loud noise, i will most effective describe as a sort of helicopter/rotary noise when riding it. During acceleration the noise receives louder, but if i dip the take hold of at a great pace, say 30mph the rotary noise will absolutely disappear, and as quickly as the take hold of is introduced back up the noise comes returned whilst driving.

I haven't used an MED lightened flywheel, but I have used an ally one, with a competition clutch, and yes, there was judder with gentle use, but it was brilliant on the front row at the "Traffic lights Grand Prix".

If your predominant use isn't going to be smart acceleration, refit the works flywheel.

I already have a Minispares Ultralight flywheel on my 1098 and it is brilliant. It's the MED fully balanced assembly I have the problem with.

Have you driven it much to bed every thing in?
Both my minispares steel ultralight and my KAD alloy flywheel had some initial judder which disappeared during the first roadtest.
