1970: The COST of a CAR | Nationwide | Retro Transport | BBC Archive.
"Britain has become a nation of devoted car lovers, with an estimated 11 million vehicles now on the roads. But just how much does it really cost to run one of these 'temples on wheels'?

BBC Nationwide's Jack Pizzey arms himself with a marker pen and reports on the real price of running an average car - in this case a 1968 Austin 1300 - for one year."
Originally broadcast 30th January, 1970.
