One of my next jobs is to remove the dash to I can fit some gauges and do some wiring although I think I have failed at the first hurdle.  Having a read around the dash is usually secured by 3 bolts (one above each of the air vents and one above the stereo).  I don't have air vents - I have speakers which will not move from the front and the gauges are above the stereo.

Not done any Yoga today so though I would ask here first before getting in upside down etc.

I assume I should also remove the steering shroud?

Thanks

Any suggestions on how to get it out - it's not even in straight!

Have you any access to the rear of the dash? If it’s a modified generic dash, the dash is attached with 6 wing nuts but it looks like the speakers are positioned over 2 of the brackets. If you can’t get through the glove door I think your only option Is to remove the radio get your hand in and remove the wing nut on the left side that holds the 3 clock piece in position pull the l/h towards you and slide it left and you should be able to pull it out enough to disconnect the speedo cable and multi plug and see how to proceed.

You can see where the brackets are or should be on the pic below

Thanks - now removed - what a mess.  There was about 1km of speaker wires and all the soundproofting has broken up and was just stuffed up and loose.

Another job so sort .
