"Phil Mires, 29, from Ottershaw in Surrey started his classic car business in 2021.
He specialises in late-generation Minis, identifying the most desirable examples.
He says he has sold 50 examples in three years for a total of £700k - here's how." :-

I was at a loose end today and I was looking at his website and his T & Cs, and they state cars are “sold as seen”.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the Consumer Rights Act 2015 says otherwise. In fact sold as seen, as far as I know is now not regarded as a thing and/or defence, especially if sold through a dealer.

Maybe it’s a copy and paste job, and I know nothing of this person or his business.

I had a quick look at his T&C’s, although he says ‘sold as seen’ it seems to me that he means the overall appearance of the car rather than the mechanical condition as he says “You are not responsible for identifying issues in respect of the state of the vehicle which would not be apparent from a reasonable inspection. “

I think the general legal expectation is 3 months implied warranty for a second-hand car not from a private sale by the previous owner.

Possibly more, or less, depending on what claims the seller makes.

I believe the Consumer Rights Act 2015, made it 6 months.
