OK so not a "new" topic, in fact lots of posts, but none that quite explain what I need.

Helping someone to fit a MotaLita wheel using this boss:

https://www.ebay.co....kp:BFBMypS5oNlj

Actually listed as an MPi Airbag conversion which is a little inaccurate IMHO because:

In another listing (which I cannot now find!) Wood and Pickett state that the instructions aren't comprehensive and it should be fitted by a competent mechanic/electrician: I'm a reasonably competent DIY-er with a reasonable understanding of the stuff required but the instructions are very generic and don't explain how to overcome the two main issues I found

1: I believe removing the Airbag will cause the SRS light to come on - may or may not be an MoT failure depending what you read (but probably is) and I read that a resistor is required to "fake" the system

What resistor, assuming it is connected across the red and yellow cables (according to the wiring diagram) Or do I need to remover the SRS bulb (NOT an MoT failure as far I can understand what I read on the gov.uk site just now) - nothing mentioned in the "instructions"

This bit is relatively straight-forward as the cables can be tucked into the column shroud once the resistor IS connected

2: Horn operation - If I understand correctly the MPi horn buttons are basically connecting the earth switching side of a relay (the relay which controls current "on" to the horn itself)

Has anyone used this boss - how DO the horn cables get "inside" the boss to be connected?

Again If I understand correctly, the P(urple)/B(lack) can be connected to the back of the horn button and the B(lack) to the cable and then the circuit will be made pressing the button but I'm not sure if that is correct

Anyone done this/used this boss/solved these issues - Anyone from Wood and Pickett reading this who would care to comment/enlighten me/the readers

I would have thought an item costing well over 200 quid ought to have at least some basic pointers to the specifics of fitting it to the specific application in this case (MPi)  especially as that is somewhat different to the generic classic car fitting instructions that probably does cover 99% of most other cars to which a MotaLita would be fitted?

Indeed it is… never noticed that… maybe break out the drill then? Still lots cheaper

To the OP… search MGF/TF/ZR or Rover 25 as they’re the same wheel fitment as mpi… maybe it might be more reasonably achieved?

Also, after a bit of digging, try here https://www.mountney...series boss kit

Look for the 36 spline versions and they do have the 6/9 hole bosses on there… around 32 - 50 quid
