Indicators And Hazards Not Flashing

What’s the chances of a quick fix for this one
Hazards and indicators are working but not flashing. Checked all the lights/bulbs and all working.
It’s a 94 spi so believe the hazards and indicators have separate flasher units but might be wrong with that info. It has been fitted with new flasher unit behind the dash about 6-8 months ago. It was changed cause had issues before with rapid flashing with indicators.
Any ideas what it might be ??

If you have power but no flashing then it can only really be the flasher units not working - seems odd for them both to go unless you have recently done something?. Can you here them switching on or off or not. Have you checked the ground cables - you obviously have a live feed and ground connection otherwise the bulbs would not work at all. Assume you have not swapped any for LED's?
More clever minds should be along soon with other suggestions!

Don’t hear anything (clicking) from the flasher unit behind the dash

If that doesn't work at least you only have one spare 🤣

One yellow relay to the left at the wing
Then 2 right hand side of bulk head.
Which one does the hazards ?

Most likely. It's the same flasher with a relay under the bonnet that connects the indicators only when the ignition is on. The flasher unit has its own earth pin so it could be a bad earth, if you're lucky.

Didn’t do anything to fix it
Now I know everything works I suppose and can only put it down to a glitch in the wiring maybe 🤔

Good news but suspect it's more likely to be a sticking relay or poor ground somewhere nearby - chances are it will happen again.

That would make be suspect a poor earth on the flasher unit a bit more. It's electronic, so tends to work or stop working altogether. I'm not that familiar with injection car wiring, but if something else shares the earth, it could be it's raising the voltage so there's insufficient voltage drop across the flasher unit to make it flash. The hazards aren't ignition dependent, so if turning the ignition on & off starts & stops them flashing that would hint at the same.

Hi Buckles,
I've had this problem with my SPI. First time it was the hazard switch that was faulty. Second time it turned out to be a loose wire at the back on the yellow relay on the left (as your looking at it from the front) of the engine bay.

All right cheers... The problem hasn't come back but will have a look at the wiring for that relay and check that switch as well... I've had a good rummage around but can't get it to not work again.
