998 mini HS4 carb

I've recently serviced the carb (new jet, gaskets) after failing MoT on emissions but have left all linkages and needle alone.

Now when I try and start the car there is fuel flowing from the float bowl overflow and it won't start.
I've checked the float gap and condition of the float/switch and all seems ok (and was working before I messed with the carb).

What should I be checking to solve this overflow?

The only way it can overfow is if the fuel is overcoming the float. It may be pressure or the valve is not seating or if you have the strange valve with a ball in it then throw it away and get a standard one.

Agree with that, total waste of money that ball valve from Minispares
