Hello
1993 L reg
UK RHD
SPI Cooper
Manual
Background
I've changed the fuel pump
And the fuel filter
When I tried to start the car, it turned over, but didn't fire
The new pump was sending fuel to the hydraulic body / injector
The new pump was priming at almost every turn of the ignition key, which made me wonder if the fuel pressure regulator was at fault
I got a replacement from the wonderful Classic Mini NLA
Today
After changing the old for the new hydraulic body and reassembling everything....and having reset the stepper motor with the accelerator lever in the mid-point location and locked off.....
I tried to start the car.
But...
Just the same.
Fuel pump primes.
Stater motor spins.
No ignition.
Fuel ?
Because I'd been adjusting the accelerator cable adjuster and locking nuts, the air filter box was loose, placed to the left (all vac hoses still connected)
That gave me a clear view of the hydraulic body / the dish below the injector
All bone dry
The same fuel pump, filter, pipes etc that had fed petrol to the old hydraulic body I took off yesterday are now seemingly providing no petrol to the new hydraulic body today.
Questions:
Any ideas?
Things to check?
Has anyone experienced the same or similar?
Thanks
Elwyn
