Which make of spark plugs do you think are the best? I'm gonna replace mine, and a set of Unipart ones for £3 are very tempting!
or should i stick to NGK?

British Car, use british plugs for posterity, use Champion, good plugs and keeps it british what what!

Other than that, NGK BPR6ES are usually sworn by.

the R stands for resistive im let to believe giving you a weaker spark if your igition system doesnt require it!! just get the ones without the R!! BP6ES

Champion are not really the best plugs... I would use NGK or Bosch personally had problems with a few sets of champions on various cars never with NGK or Bosch. Replace them with whats in the car already is a good safe bet just check plug gap before fitting the new ones.

I thought it was to do with plug interference on the radio lol, whehn i fitted R's it was completely eliminated.. but it would help anyway if the spark was weaker even if that wasn't it's design.

I use NGK's.... actually use 7's on the 1330 as they run a bit colder which reduces plug failure on high compression engines, tried 8's but found them unreliable.

6's are perfect for std engines.

here's a quick article from our sponsors on winter running which is quite appropriate...

And some more bumph from NGK

The R is to do with whether your running electronic ignition. BP6ES for most mini engines with points, BPR6ES for most with electronic ignition.

7s or 8s for the more modified engines out there.

I swear by the NGK's too and if you renew them every 12,000 miles they won't let you down. :errr:

i swear by ngk's and so does the guy that builds my engine and both rolling roads by my way!! thats enough reason for me!! i found champions unreliable and bosh never seemed to give the same power as the ngk!! maybe they need the car setting up differently!!
