Hi, I just like to get the advice and opinions on using 12 AWG silicone cable for use on auto wiring, Is it feasible? or should pvc copper cable be used, I was specifically referring to solenoid to new fuse block connection.

Silicon I think would be better in the engine bay on the wiring that goes on to the engine, but the only colours I've been able to find are red and black, apart from that, I think it would be somewhat awful stuff on the rest of the loom.

The only possible reason for silicone is temperature. Standard pvc is v75 or 75degC resistant and most silicone is v90 (90degC) so not much diff. There is some that is V105 but it is not common and is expensive and again not really worth the hassle. The fact that silicone does not hold its shape means the loom will be a PITA to work.

..the thickness of the silicone sheathing will also make the loom very bulky

i'd recommend thinwall pvc
