what other speedo options do i have?

what other speedo options do i have?

i want to install something differant into my van as its built but im not too sure what i can do. i want something which will give that "O THATS NICE" look. i was thinking dtial or something???? even if its anaulog any ideas what sort of speedos i can use as its not as easy as just pluging in any old thing due to the cable (or is it?)

digital one could be done. you would need a sensor i believe to read the speed. I think someone was doing it with a sensor on the brake caliper/hub and one mounted to the inner side of a wheel. This would then need to be set up to measure and calibrate the correct speed.

Most from old classics can be changed to work the correct gears for your engine etc so thats not great worry.

last mini world had a nice blue seamless mini with center clocks made to fit behind the steering wheels. Dude had a weber so he had to run a box for it.

off set the clocks to the driver side with a vac formed dash. looked really nice.

Yeah I like those too - BL used them on the MG and (I think) the VdP 1100's so it ought to be a resonably easy conversion. I've seen an Astra GTE digital conversion, but imagine it was a hell of a faff to do.

lmao just testing...

so what would you do if you was changing your clocks?

im happy to have somthing differant but what about the cable side of things then? that would been to be calibrated too to match the speedo, or am i loseing my self here?

i've got some VDO gauges in mine, found on ebay.

came with a sender that fits on the end of the existing speedo cable, or screw directly on the gearbox output.

dont know where you would get one from, think it was made by hunter ??

ive got a speedo out of a triumph dolomite in my red mini project, its got a tripmeter on it too, can now see how many miles im gettin to a tank of petrol without having to remember the mileage the car was on when i filled it up!! hahaha!
