Hi everyone, don't know if there's a better place for it but this fake mini is doing the rounds again: https://www.facebook...14184425109213/

Seen it advertised in a few places over the last year or two but it's always a fake listing.
Im ashamed to say I spent 2 hours sat in the back end of Milton Keynes waiting before I realised, thankfully didn't lose any money. I've since found 5 other listings for the same car, same wording, different seller (and different prices, some more believable than others)

Identical pics from 2 years ago. I've reported the advert to FB who will no doubt do nothing.

There's a few legitimate people out there (sold my MG though FB and bought my current mini there too) but it's a minefield for sure

Like most I'm not a Fan of FB sales mainly as others have said, too many scammers but recently I've got a couple of absolute bargains, I bought a pair of original Cibie headlamps for £50.00 and they go for serious money in the classic Ford world and just picked up a the metal version of the air filter housing as fitted to the 1275GT I believe, for the princely sum of £20.00 so happy days.
On the other side recently there was a guy supposedly selling a mk1 for what I would consider silly money, it was apparently very local to me, I said I would have it and would collect it there and then, all of a sudden the ad disappeared funny that.

post seems to have been removed so at least FB seem to have done their part. having been ripped off in the past the usual buyer beware same as ebay etc. being distrusting of all usually works. :D

I spend too much of my time saving people from scammers on Facebook but I feel like I need to.

I don't about buying off Facebook but when I've tried to sell,it's just been a waste of time. You get the message 'is this still for sale' you reply yes and then nothing.

"Is this still available" is too easy to accidentally send.
