Depining A Multipin Connector.

I have some Superseal connectors. They have a similar plastic insert with  tangs on the underside that lock the pins, so I expect you'd need  to remove the yellow bit to release them all. you still have to wonder the smaller holes are for & why not all pins have 'em

Has any one ever removed a pin or pins from a multipin connector?

The connector I'm referring to is situated adjacent to the glove box behind the dash on my 1994 1275 Mayfair.

This loom that this connector goes back to the boot area.

I appear to have a broken wire (blue/yellow) that stops the rear fog light working.

The connector (male) has a yellow insert that I think should pull out to be able to access the clip holding the pin in to be able to pull it back.

typically each pin will have it's own locking barb within the connector, and the connector may have a 'gate' that holds all the connectors in place

if you can upload a photo it may help identify what type it is and how it goes together

If you’re wanting to remove a pin from a multi pin plug I bought a set of these eBay item number 114890973735. Theycover a range of multi plugs.

I'm not sure of the type of connector this is, but if it has round pins, you'd use a tubular tool, similar to this in Chris's post above. If it has flat pins, you insert a small flat blade jeweler's type screwdriver down one side of the blade to release the retaining barb.

Sorry the images are so massive my antique copy of Photoshop Elements 6 no longer works on Windows 11.

I'm assuming the yellow insert is removable to remove the blue and yellow pin

I have a pick from a lock picking kit which is perfect for depinning most plugs.
