I'm looking to remove the loud K&N cone air filter on my HIF44 FZX3006 and replace it with a standard Metro or Mini air filter housing. My problem is that I have a Maniflow intake manifold with the servo hose attached and the hose looks like it is protruding higher than the bottom of the air filter housing. On looking at it, it seem there is a 5/8" adapter fitted to the servo vacuum hose, I don't think that's normal.

I've looked on various vendors sites to see if there's a 90 degree 5/8" adapter to vacuum pipe but I've not found anything. What's the best route to get the vacuum hose sitting lower on the manifold whilst still being able to have the air filter housing?

Just found this https://www.ebay.co....eEaApR6EALw_wcB but there must be something more elegant?

Use an old oil filter to block pipe and cut the banjo fitting off it, leaving about 3" of pipe.

Great, thank you both. There is a very nice fitting in the mmoc link, I'll try for that.

That's going to cost you somewhere around £25.
Send me a PM and I'll send you a bolt, washers and a modified oil pipe for half that!

I changed the K&N cone filter on my engine for a Pipercross foam version from Minispares. That loud rasp noise has disappeared and it's a very civilized sound now.

Thanks Graeme, sorry but I missed this and ended up buying a bolt and banjo for £26, so you're right. I wanted to continue to use the existing hose so this worked for me.

Had the same problem last year. I bought the banjo type screw from Datch.fr in France, which wasn't available anywhere else to my surprise. We are supposed to install a valve in the middle now, to avoid contaminating the servo with fumes. The connector I removed from the intake manifold had this valve.

by the way, good decision. I got rid of the induction noise and following Keith Calver instructions available at his website, the car runs better with the original filter case.
