Minispares do 2 types of clutch oil seal, a standard one for £2 and a performance one at twice the price.

I previously used the performance one but must have damaged it getting it in, so will order the special oil seal fitting tool to do the job again. Had a nightmare of a job removing it so wondered if the standard type would have come out easier, (when doing the job with the engine still in the car).

So got to wondering is the performance one worth using,ie is actually better or is the standard one more than adequate for a fast road engine up to 90bhp?

Where are you? If in Surrey and close to me I can lend you the seal fitting toll.

Definitely go for the MPI seal.

Out if the 3 versions available, I prefer the Mini Spares version. The standard types are ~ OK ~ but I've had better success with the Mini Spares version, rarely giving any issues. I don't like the MPi type as they wear grooves in the Primary Gear.

I was wondering why I'm finding Diva gears with grooves;  I never used to.
