Need help…
First off I know there is a lot of threads on immobiliser issues but can’t find anything specific to my problem…
I have a mini 1998 mpi
The car has been stood for around 12 months unused. Today I tried to jump start the battery…had a bit of juice but not enough to get it to kick into action…starter motor was kicking in but not enough battery to give it that final push. All lights, radio etc were working. The alarm immobiliser light was not working and had assumed the bulb had gone as I could hear it clicking on and off.
I decided to buy a new battery. Connected it, alarm light came on and would switch off. When trying to start the engine it would only engage the fuel pump and SRS light. Main beams work but no indicators, horn, etc
I assumed the immobiliser was the issue so disconnected the battery and the key fob, pressed the unlock 5 times to drain it. Reconnected everything then pressed the unlock again a few times. Still had the same issues.
From what I can tell there no issue with the starter motor. Is this an immobiliser issue or is there something else I am missing?
