Just changed all of my shocks and trumpets as well as cones. A few months ago I changed out the rear brake shoes and cylinder. Now the one of the rear wheels spin frealy after I adjust the adjuster. Another words I will jack the car up adjust the brakes so that the wheel can be turned by hand but not freely. I will then go for a drive and can hear a loud rubbing of what sounds like the rear brakes. The sound goes away when I step on the brakes. After the drive the rear wheel spins freely again.
My first thought is that the adjuster screw is coming loose but not sure why.

Have you removed the drum and looked at how the shoes are located ?

This is probably normal, you are rubbing off the high spots. Are you applying the brakes really hard as you adjust them? This helps to center the shoes.Steve..

Did you chamfer the new shoes?
Is the quadrant moving ok?
Have you tried tightening up the adjuster: you may find you hit a loose patch and then the wheel will lock up fully.
Did you do the adjustment with the handbrake off?
My car had these symptoms with a brand new MOT when I bought it; one side was doing no braking at all; the adjuster was rusted in and took a bit of shifting
I have also had brake shoes that were too big
Good luck

Are you adjusting it in the steps on the adjuster? The adjuster has four sides. If you simply turn it until it gets tight you could be on one of the high spots which is not where it should be. You need to turn it more until you get to one of the flats.
