Hi Everyone, I just bought a tachometer and fitted it today, (CNSPEED brand) not the most expensive one around but it was a 52 mm with chrome bezel and black face which is what I was looking for,(cant afford a Smiths).Anyway  the problem is it only comes with three wires red( live feed),black ,(ground), and green ,(sensor). There is no wire to connect to panel lights which means the backlight stays on as soon as the ignition is switched on, I,m not really keen on gauge lights being on in daytime driving.Has anyone else ever come across these type of gauges?Any advice or suggestions greatly appreciated.

CNSPEED as in China Speed?

Probably to save money plus a lot of moderns have ignition controlled instrument lighting now. Hence the muppets driving with no lights in the dark!
