Before I splash out on a new wiper motor for this 1988 mini sky which has been standing since 2007 I would like to know if there is a method of testing the original one. The free socket and its fixed plug connections have corroded to the point of disintegration. The motor has three cables Red, Yellow and Blue. The latter I believe is  earth but when connecting 12Volts across this and red or yellow nothing happens. This would appear to be a two speed self park motor. Any thoughts on testing it? One for the sparks amongst you.

You're correct. Blue is earth, red slow, yellow fast. Is the motor disconnected so you know it's not mechanical drag?

Brushes are available, but check the spindle & bearings

Many thanks. I did find a thread going back to 2013 which included a detailed wiring schematic of the motor and switch so I can see how it works.
