Hello,

 

After a bit of help to find a STD set of piston rings for a 1000cc (998) A-Series. 99H791P

Minispares is my go-to usually, however they don't have anything that suits my pistons.

 

Pistons are original, dished, 4 rings, top ring is approximately 0.057” thick, the next 2 are about 0.062” thick, and the lower scraper is about 0.123” thick.

The ones Minispares lists has all 3 top rings are the same thickness.

 

The rings on the pistons currently, the top one looks to be chrome, the next 2 are different - likely cast, and then the scraper is obviously different again.

Not seen this before either, but there is a slit below the scraper ring, on one side of the piston - whats that for? Its on all of them.

 

My bores are still round, bottoms still perfectly in spec at 2.543" and the tops are 2.545" for 3 of them, and 1 is 2.546", so still very much in spec for STD if I am not mistaken. I just plan to give a light hone to remove the glaze, and put in new rings, along with a few other things like bearings, seals etc.

 

Anyone know where I can source suitable rings? I am just having no luck, plus don't really know the best places to look.

I am located in New Zealand, so will have to get them shipped over.

Thanks, but the listing for that says "STANDARD SIZE WITH 3X 0.625 COMPRESSION RINGS AND 1X .1575 OIL CONTROL RING" which is not right, as I don't have 3 rings the same. That is the same as everywhere else I have found unfortunately.
