Hello everyone!

It's been almost 6 years that I have the body throttle of SC on my mini MPI.
I selected the normal 45mm with the delta 400 when I thought it was plug & play (they said that)

My mechanic doesn't have the means to help me tunning the ECU and here in Portugal (Lisbon) no one knows **** about SX Tunning.

I really need your help by sharing your map? That could be already a base for me.
I have a standard block 1275 of MPi with a light flywheel from MED.

Can someone help me? I'm really desperate to have a drivable mini.

Thank you

Thanks 👍
I noticed that is only for SPI with the original ECU and not the delta 400 and MPI.

If you contact sc, they have a selection of base maps, and also a list of tuners that support sx tune, might be able to get you a base map, so that’s it’s driveable to find a tuner? Worst case maybe a local
dynotuber could screen share with a tuner in the uk? I found that I had to play with a few of the
basemaps to get mine driving.

I’ll be honest, you might find it hard to get anything other than a base map online, as they are very conservative on timing etc

Thanks 👍 I'll translate. It's really frustrating not having a good map that works on the road.

The base map timing is fine for driving round, but will need a rolling road ideally. Fuelling, well that's something you could do yourself if you have a wide band lambda and log you'll driving. When I installed my haltech to a similar wet manifold system, it's what I did.

Yes I do have the lambda wide sensor. I'll try to do something...
The most ridiculous thing is that the car has less power than stock....makes no sense.

That'll be down to the base map. It's tame. I'm happy for you to send me your base map and I can make it a bit better.

@steve220, I made a mistake.

I don't have a wideband lambda sensor.

The BIG problem:
- the car stalls even when it's warm, for example... I'm reducing and then I have to pull the handbrake at the same time that I press the accelerator (that's the main problem and I want to solve it). Imagine, I'm on 3/4k RPM and press the clutch and the car can't be stable on 900rpm.. just stalls.

- I don't have a wideband lambda controler. I have what I received on Specialist Components kit
if I share the MAP do you think you can do something?

Thank you mate!

Greetings Diogo,

Sorry but I do not have great news.

  • Yes the SC conversion is Plug and Play but the base maps are only a starting point
  • Every car is different especially with upgrades and needs to be tuned correctly
  • My Mini was taken to SC for tuning and still came back with no cold start and overheating issues
  • Since then it's been off the road and I am awaiting news from a mapping contact who says they can tune the Delta 400 properly as obviously Specialist Components cannot.

The SX tuning software is available online so I can only suggest you search automotive people in Portugal who can make it work for you. Surely the basics are the same for anyone doing this work and though the software is not what they are familiar with they should work it out?

I wish you well

Paul

If you have a wideband sensor, the tuning software and most importantly the interest it is reasonably easy to program the car yourself. It is not a quick process and you will be unlikely to extract the maximum but a good driving safe tune is achievable.

Things like cold starting is only possible to adjust once per day,and needs doing for all temperatures you are likely to experience.Soon you will see patterns and can then make educated guesstimations.

Give it a try,you may find it rewarding.Research EFI basics and timing curves and fuelling curves and you will be halfway there.Have fun,Steve..
