Hey all. I am still dealing with a VERY annoying misfire between 3-4k RPM and need to sort. I am looking to see what are the MEMs options, that record data, that can be used on a Mac? Is it still MEMsFCR? I hooked it up tonight and it seemed to work but said their was an updated version. I downloaded and the new version will not connect. You hit the CONNECT button and nothing happens.
My goal is to be able to capture data while on a drive so I can see what is happening between 3-4k when I am experiencing this miss. Possible to share with some of you knowledgeable folks for a bit of advice.

I use the Pscan tool, it does 90% of the what the Rover workshop tool did and they do bring out updates for the software at times. I believe you have to buy an additional adaptor lead for it work on the Mini. I have found it useful (admittedly I am using on an MG TF as my Mini are all pre injection). There are Youtube videos on it and you can even reprogramme remotes to the immobiliser with it. I am not sure if it logs the data as i tend to use it real time with my laptop on the passenger seat. Check out the website.

Not sure I follow?
In an ideal world, there would be a MEMs software that runs on a Mac and can capture data logs that could then be shared....hopefully with someone smarter than myself;-)

you can run proper PC software on a Mac if you use a virtual machine, that way you can run Windows in a window on the mac, it would be slower obviously but bearable
I wouldn't want to try and use it for CAD or video editing, etc, but for that it would probably be fine
or, what some people do over on the Volvo forum with the VIDA software, get a cheap old windows laptop just for that purpose, get it running right and just leave it alone don't use it for anything else. you probably wouldn't want the mac getting knocked about in the garage anyway I'm guessing

Checked resistance of the coil pack, leads? normally misfire at revs and load will be ignition based.

Thanks all. I have a beater PC laptop that I have tried but I could not get it to work right and gave up. I guess I will just go down that path again and get someone that understands PCs more to ensure I am going it right.
The MEMs FRC does run on a Mac but the new version (with all the great updates) does not load for me. So close but so far!!
Midas, I'll respond on the thread I have about this problem with updates on what I have tried.
