Dave Rosenthal was doing that back in the 60's, he was fitting them both sides of the arm to make setting up a bit easier.

He quite liked it and continued with them in to the 90's.

I've got to say that's a strange way of setting up to offset bore a hole in a lathe, especially when you factor in the sort of tolerances that seem to be involved.
