Hi

I am looking for the correct color code for my 1975 Mini. It was born as a roundnose but later converted to clubman spec with a 1275 s race engine. I think the idea was to get more space for a big radiator. Anyway, the car still retains the original color - brown - and I would like to know which type of brown it might be. I know it is hard to judge from the pictures bit may be you have an idea. I have to repair some panels and I would need to car here and there. I like the patina, that’s why I don’t want to give it a ok repaint.

Thank you very much

Attached File  IMG_5627.jpeg   74.35K   2 downloadsAttached File  IMG_5585.jpeg   32.86K   3 downloadsI ordered a can of russet brown and have tested it. Looks very good. I ordered a 2k spray rattle can and for smaller areas it seems to be perfect. Anyway it is a racecar with lots of patina still wearing the stickers from Rover and I like it like that.

The problem is, I had all new rear panels welded in, rear valance, panel with the rear lights and half of the floor. Also the strengthening plates for the subframe rear mounts had been replaced. I tried to fit the subframe but the valance on the rod side sits too close now and it is impossible to fit. I have to bring the car to the welder next week to rectify the problem. Bad news.

The fitted trunnion (fuel tank side) is the wrong way round, but I don't think it matters. Can you get them both on loose, even if without the rubbers? That should give you a better idea of where it's out. It might be possible to get them all on, then pull it in to place with the bolts if it's not too much.
