hi i have a 1994 mini cooper spi,

when i turn the ignition on the fuel pump does not run,

i disconnected the ecu plug and applied a negative ground to the negative cable that supplies the fuel pump relay and the relay energies then the fuel pump operates so i know that the cable  is good ,relay and pump are working.

i applied  power to the pump and cranked the engine will not start

if i pour a little fuel in inlet the car fires up and runs on fuel till it runs out.

is there anything that can be stopping the fuel pump and injector from running .

the immobiliser  seems to be working  when button pressed flashing light goes out

has anyone any idea's?

Have you checked the inertia switch? Big round button under the hood, near the firewall.
