Hello,

I'm having a high emissions problem with my 92 SPI.

I replaced the air intake temperature sensor & cleared the fault but it came back but I can't believe that would cause the emissions to be around 10%.

I have checked the vac lines & the fuel trap & they're fine.

The car starts every time & idles well but it's quite smokey at times. The car also drives well & doesn't hesitate.

I have attached some data from my Rovermems reader & was hoping to get some advice if possible please?

Could the ECU be faulty?

Thanks 😊

If it is smokey as you say then you should fix this first.EFI engines also suffer from all the other maladies as carb engines.Steve..

How many miles has it done. You may simply have an engine with a lot of bore/ piston wear.
I had to rebuild an MPI engine which had done 92,000 miles and would not pass the MoT due to emissions. A re-bore with new pistons cured the problem completely.

The engine was rebuilt in 2020 & has only done around 3,000 miles since then.

Can you see anything in the Mems data that may point to the cause?

When it was rebuilt and how many miles it has is not a good indicator of its condition sadly.Steve..
